La chiralita' spaziale ±l del campo SLC uno strato per .tiff, ri-impilati in 3D

Ogni acquisizione letta dal suo .tiff in ordine temporale e ridotta a uno strato: i modi azimutali da -2 a +2 attorno a ogni cella, il verso chi_l della rotazione e la carica topologica divisa nelle sue due meta'. Gli strati ri-impilati sono il volume che si guarda. Estensione della chiralita' +-l al momento angolare orbitale di Renzini.

Grado e verso: due grandezze, non due nomi

La carica topologica m conta i giri netti della fase attorno a una cella: e’ il grado, ed e’ un intero. La chiralità confronta quanta potenza gira in un verso rispetto all’altro: e’ la mano, ed e’ continua. Si proietta l’anello di vicini sulle armoniche azimutali A = ∮ u(φ) e−iℓφ e se ne confrontano le potenze: χ = (P(+ℓ) − P(−ℓ)) / (P(+ℓ) + P(−ℓ)). Un campo con m = 0 può avere χ ≠ 0: sono i due lati della scomposizione J = JL + JS della tesi di Renzini — il grado sta dal lato orbitale, il verso e’ l’analogo dell’elicità. Qui si estraggono i modi da −2 a +2, e la carica viene tenuta divisa nelle sue due metà, positiva e negativa.

Dal .tiff, uno strato alla volta

Questa catena non legge nessun file intermedio: ogni acquisizione viene dal suo .tiff, in ordine temporale, con la stessa finestra di analisi delle altre catene, e diventa un file. Finita la sequenza, i file si rileggono da disco e si impilano in un volume (epoca, riga, colonna) di 43 × 86 × 368: e’ da quel volume che si rigenera la pagina 3D. Il cambio di sorgente e’ verificato sul risultato e non dato per buono: la persistenza della carica torna identica alla catena che legge i CSV — 96 coordinate al raggio 1 e 113 al raggio 2, gli stessi numeri.

Senza la parte immaginaria non c’e’ mano

Per un campo reale vale A−ℓ = A*+ℓ, quindi le due potenze modali sono uguali e χ e’ nullo per costruzione. Non e’ una nota a margine: dice che la grandezza misurata non e’ l’ampiezza travestita. Il programma lo misura sullo strato vero, rifacendo il conto sul solo I e sul solo Q: |χ| massimo 0,00e+00 su 31 648 celle, a entrambi i raggi e a entrambi gli ordini.

E regge su SLC grezzi per la stessa ragione per cui ci regge il grado: uno schermo di fase liscio — offset di prodotto, rampa orbitale, atmosfera, topografia — e’ sull’anello un gradiente lineare, e il suo sviluppo in armoniche di Bessel dà P(+1) = P(−1) al prim’ordine: una rampa non ha mano. La protezione e’ del prim’ordine, quindi va misurata: la taratura sintetica inietta speckle, rampa e rumore e rilegge il verso a ogni stadio. Il test dello specchio — riflettere manda φ in −φ, quindi χ in −χ — e’ definitorio, e passa a ogni prova.

Che cosa dicono i dati

Il verso tiene molto piu’ di quanto il caso spieghi: 594 coordinate su 31 648 conservano la stessa mano in almeno 28 epoche su 43, contro 7,3 attese dal nullo — che non e’ una simulazione ma gli stessi strati traslati ciclicamente lungo le sole colonne, cosi’ che densità e profilo per riga restino quelli veri. Il bilancio fra le due mani e’ quasi pari: 290 destrorse e 304 sinistrorse.

Due cose vanno lette insieme al numero. Le coordinate estratte stanno in alto nell’ampiezza (percentile medio 0,65 contro 0,50 della mappa): la mano si legge meglio dove c’e’ segnale, ed e’ un limite della misura, non un risultato. E non cadono sulle piramidi: 16 su 594, cioe’ 0,027 contro lo 0,068 che toccherebbe a una distribuzione uniforme. Il verso e’ una proprietà del campo in quel punto, e su questi dati non seleziona il bersaglio.

L’aggancio ai materiali — l’idea che un reticolo attraversato lasci una firma chirale, come in polarimetria — resta un’ipotesi da tarare su bersagli noti, non un fatto. Quello che qui e’ misurato e’ un canale in piu’ — verso: destrorso, sinistrorso, assente — accanto a frequenza e intensita’. La risoluzione della cella radar non cambia.

  Le due densita' quasi si pareggiano, come deve essere: un campo senza
  mano preferita produce tanti vortici destrorsi quanti sinistrorsi, e
  la carica media e' cio' che resta di quel pareggio.

  QUESTA TABELLA E' ANCHE IL CONTROLLO DEL CAMBIO DI SORGENTE: la stessa
  statistica, calcolata da forma_onda_3d.py sui CSV di
  esporta_pixel_complessi.py invece che dai .tiff, da' 96 coordinate a
  s >= 22 sul raggio 1 e 113 a s >= 26 sul raggio 2. Sono gli stessi
  numeri: leggere il prodotto direttamente non ha cambiato il risultato,
  ha tolto una copia.

  traslando gli stessi strati, non simulandoli.
